The FPMT is devoted to the transmission of the Mahayana Buddhist
tradition and values worldwide through teaching, meditation, and
community service.
The organization provides integrated education through which people's
minds and hearts can be transformed into their highest potential
for the benefit of others, inspired by an attitude of universal
responsibility.
The organization is based on the Buddhist tradition of Lama Tsong
Khapa of Tibet as taught to us by the founder Lama Thubten Yeshe
and spiritual director Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Lama Zopa Rinpoche was born in 1946 in Thami, in the Mount Everest
region of Nepal, not far from the Lawudo cave where his predecessor
had meditated for the last 20 years of his life.
Lama Zopa Rinpoche is the Spiritual Director of the Foundation
and oversees all of its activities.

About
Us
Ganden Yiga Chozin Meditation & Retreat Centre was started in
1993 to provide a peaceful place where the Tibetan Buddhist teachings
could be presented, studied and meditated upon.
The
centre is part of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana
Tradition (FPMT),
a worldwide organisation of over 100 Buddhist centres and activities
directed by Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
