Thubten Drolkar, from Australia, has been studying Buddhism since 1994 when she went to her first Introductory Course at the Hayagriva Centre in Perth, Western Australia. Drolkar continued to study there until the year 2000 when she moved to Chenrezig Institute in Queensland to engage in the formal Buddhist Philosophy study programme taught by Geshe Tashi Tsering. In April 2000 Drolkar took ordination from Lama Zopa Rinpoche and continued to study and work at Chenrezig Institute until 2008 when she moved to Dharamsala, India to study Tibetan language. Also, in 2006 Drolkar spent 6 months at the Himalayan Buddhist Meditation Centre in Kathmandu where she lead meditations and taught one-day courses on Buddhism. In 2010 after 10 years of ordination, Drolkar disrobed and since that time has continued to study Buddhism and Tibetan Language in both India and Nepal, as well as leading meditations at the Himalayan Buddhist Meditation Centre in Kathmandu from time to time.
